1949 Softball Team: 

P.V.C. Champions for the 3rd year in a row! Girls’ Softball began as an interscholastic sport in 1947 coached by Brewer Physical Education Teacher Lura Hoit (2015 Brewer Hall of Fame Inductee).  Miss Hoit, a pioneer for women’s athletics over the next 26 years, formed the Girls’ Athletic Association at Brewer High School in 1942.  Girls’ Softball was the only interscholastic sport offered for girls from 1947 to 1960.
