1959 Boys’ Cross Country Team:

Brewer Boys’ Cross Country was formed in 1925 and remained a successful interscholastic sport even with small numbers of participants until 1930.  While Spring Track remained popular, numbers dwindled in cross country until it started up again in 1958.  Elite runner, David Farley (2014 Brewer Hall of Fame Inductee, 3^rd from the right) helped to rejuvenate Boys’ Cross Country at Brewer High School.  Farley set his first cross country record in 1958 in the 2 ½ mile race at Garland Street Field in 12 minutes and 59 seconds.
