1970 Football Team: 1970 Football Team celebrates their victory over arch rival Bangor retaining the Timothy Geaghan Trophy for the 3rd straight year!  The 1970 Football Team beat Biddeford 48-20 to clinch the Class A State Title and was the only unbeaten, untied team in the State of Maine.  Brewer Football established a new state scoring record with 488 pts.  The 1970 Football Team (2017 Brewer Hall of Fame Inductee), under the leadership of Coach Ken Perrone (2014 Brewer Hall of Fame Inductee), was ranked #1 in New England and #5 in the Nation.

*The Geaghan Trophy is an award bestowed upon the winner of the Brewer-Bangor football game…a tradition started in 1966 after the sudden death earlier that year of former Brewer High School player Timothy Geaghan.  That trophy was awarded annually from 1966 to 1998, the last year before Brewer was reclassified from Class A to Class B.
