Coach Kiah returns in 2015 for his second season with Brewer football and baseball, after a hiatus from coaching to serve as Athletic Administrator at Brewer High School from 1995- 2012.

Kiah has an extensive background in coaching and athletics, having devoted most of his adult life to children and athletics over a 40 year career in education.

Coach Kiah's first experience as a head coach was in 1970 when he was an assistant coach for Brewer High School. Kiah earned a teaching position at Foxcroft Academy shortly after and began his teaching career there. He continued to teach and coach at Foxcroft Academy until 1977.

Upon his return to Brewer in 1977, Kiah was hired as a teacher, and subsuquently found his way back to the sidelines for the Witches in football, basketball and baseball. The majority of Kiah's coaching years were spent as either a varsity assistant baseball coach, or head baseball coach at Brewer High School, with varying stints along the way in football and boys or girls basketball.

In 1990, Kiah transitioned to administrator, where he was hired as assistant Principal at Hermon High School. After a 3-year stint in Hermon, Kiah was hired as Athletic Director at Brewer High School and served in that role in some capacity as either solely an AD or an AD/Assistant Principal for 19 years.

After retiring from administration in the spring of 2012, Kiah made his triumphant return to the Brewer baseball dugout in the spring of 2013 to assist Head Coach, Dana Corey with the Brewer Witches baseball program. Kiah has been the pitching and catching coach for the last 3 seasons. In 2014, newly hired head football coach, Nick Arthers, reached out to Coach Kiah to work with the football program, primarily on the offensive and defensive lines. Kiah works very closely with the development of these positional players as well as the overall defensive schemes in Coach Corey's defensive unit.

Over his teaching, coaching and administrative career, Dennis Kiah has earned many regional, state, and national recognitions for his work with young people. Perhaps the highlight of Coach Kiah's educational career was in 2011 when he was named the MIAAA Bob Lahey Athletic Administrator of the year. Among this prestigious award, Kiah was also given an NFHS National Citation at the 2012 National Athletic Directors Conference in San Antonio and in 2013 he was awarded the MIAAA Matrin E. Ryan Award of Excellence for his previous and continuing work within the field of athletic administration.

Coach Kiah is married to BettyEllen Kiah (BHS Class of 1967). The Kiah's raised their two children, Andy (BHS Class of '90) and Jill (BHS Class of '94) in Brewer. The Kiah's have four grandchildren, Kayleigh, Delaney, Mikenna and Ian.
