Coach Colin Gillies brings with him a wealth of experience in the sport of Golf. 

Coach has resided in Brewer since 1992 and is the co-owner of Traditions Golf Club and Learning Center. The golf club is the home of the Brewer Witches golf program. 

Coach Gillies is a graduate of the San Diego Golf Academy and was Valedictorian of his class (1983). He is PGA certified in golf instruction, golf operations, general management and golf retail. 

Gillies has an extensive background in golf, and course management. Prior to owning his own course, Gillies worked as the Assistant Golf professional in Arizona (Tuscon Country Club) from 1983-1988 and in Chicago (Westmoreland Country Club) from 1989-1990. Gillies then moved to Maine to become the Head Golf Pro and GM at the Penobscot Valley Country Club from 1991-2007. In 2010, Gillies purchased Traditions and is now the Co-Owner and Director of Golf. 

In 2005, Gillies began coaching the Brewer High School golf team. In his tenure, team members have qualified for states in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012. In 2012, one of his golfers finished third in the state tournament. 

Gillies lives in Brewer with his wife Julie and has one daughter, Chelsea.
