Summary of Unified Athletics:

Unified Athletics are interscholastic, extracurricular offerings and opportunities made available to students with special needs by partnering these students with mainstream students from the regular education setting. 

Unified Basketball & Cheer are co-ed offerings. 

"Unified Players" need to account for 80% of a teams scoring and participation. At all times during basketball game play, there needs to be at least 3 "Unified Players" on the court. 

"Partner Players" will help facilitate the play of the game and can only account for 20% of a teams scoring during the course of a game. There can only be 2 "Partner Players" on the court. 

At Brewer High School, the following selection criteria will be used when choosing "Partner Players" for the basketball program:

1. Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Member.

2. Seniors have first option through an application process of non-SAAC members.

*A maximum of 22 individuals may be on a Unified teams roster, this includes any and all student-coaches, Unified Players and Partner players. 

Student-Coaches:

1. SAAC Member. 

2. Interest in coaching or teaching beyond high school. 

3. Varsity Basketball team member (varsity team members are not permitted to play).
